Perfectly positioned on the southern banks of the Crocodile River, our five star lodge overlooks the Kruger National Park and offers a new perspective on classic colonial comfort. The enchanting family-run lodge is the perfect location to escape your busy everyday life and enjoy all the African bush has to offer. Our focus is to provide you with the ultimate five star wildlife experience while ensuring all the comforts of home.
Guests can sit back and spot the big five from the comfort of their own luxury room, play a round of golf at the exclusive Leopard Creek Country Club, enjoy a safari in the Kruger National Park with your own private guide or simply take a dip in the pool after a massage in our bush spa. The generous outdoor areas ensure you have the perfect opportunity to relax while you admire the breathtaking views. The Big 5 are frequent visitors along with hippo, crocodile and many antelope species.
Meals are served either al fresco on our veranda, in our gracious dining room or under the stars. The ambience is one of casual elegance. We pride ourselves on offering delicious cuisine along with the finest South African wines.
The lodge is in close proximity to Mozambique, Swaziland and the Malelane Gate into the Kruger National Park, which makes us the perfect place to stop. With secure parking, wifi and tons of open space, Buhala Lodge is the perfect getaway for those seeking isolation from the busy world.

Front Desk
Check in time from 14:00 until 18:00 (unless otherwise arranged).
Office hours from 06:30 until 18:00 daily.
Meals
Breakfast is served from 07:00 – 10:00.
Lunch is served from 12:00 – 14:00.
Tea and coffee is served from 15:30 – 16:30 and includes delicious freshly baked goods.
Dinner is served from 18:30 – 20:30 daily.
Special dietary requirements need to be communicated before arrival
(requests such as vegetarianism).
Pool
Cool off in our large pool while you spot some wildlife and enjoy a drink.

“From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome by the staff & animals feeding at the banks of the Crocodile River. The lodge itself has a beautiful colonial style with a great view of wild animals up close, while you enjoy the breakfast, lunch or supper. We managed to see elephants feeding as close as 50m away. We saw crocodiles feeding on a carcass of a buffalo, whom a lioness recently killed. We saw lions walking in front of the lodge…Truly an amazing experience, with a stunning backdrop of the river and the Kruger National Park”.

“From the moment you arrive, to the time of check out you feel at home. The rooms are spacious and super cozy! Sitting on the veranda, overlooking the Kruger National Park must be a highlight. We saw a pride of lions, a few buffalo grazing in front of the lodge, waterbuck, loads of Hippo activity and Elephants drinking on the Horizon. The food served is really out of this world…Buhala Lodge also booked a round of golf for me at the Prestine Leopard Creek Golf Club, which was a 1 in a million experience.
